party venueOh, well, now it all makes sense. To think I was so confused about the wildly inconsistent reviews that I’ve been finding while searching for a corporate function venue in and around Melbourne. Turns out there was this massive overseas empire of fake posters who were trying to…manipulate opinion, I suppose. They had their hands in everything, from reviews for types of party cups you can buy in the supermarket to the musicians you hire. I guess a lot of people have made ill-informed decisions as of late, so shame on these shady folks.

So yeah, this is why I’ve had friends recommending party venues left right and centre, then I go online to find that they have a way different reputation. I should’ve been suspicious when one work mate recommended this place with some awesome ice skating instructors, where he personally learned, only to check the reviews and find that someone was complaining that there was a massive ice skating rink with no instructors. I asked my work friend the next day; he said he’d had an ice-skating lesson with seven other people there the previous night. The plot was thickening. And now all this comes to light. I feel like an idiot for believing it in the first place, because some of these make it pretty clear that it was all a hoax. Naturally, all of the people who run function rooms and ice skating rinks and roller discos are pretty annoyed that this has happened. Now they have to sift through their online reviews and weed out all the bad eggs from the people who’ve genuinely enjoyed their services, and it’s not really a job I envy all that much. Ugh, just seems like backbreaking work, speaking metaphorically of course.

Channel 4 News did this massive expose, ‘OVERSEAS HACKERS ATTACK MELBOURNE PARTY VENUES!’. All very sensational, you know how they can be. But I get all the annoyance.
