I’m driving around Victoria on a mission to find the state’s best muffin. I’ve dedicated one month to my travels, because there are a lot of cafes to visit and oftentimes they are spread very far apart. There are only so many muffins I can eat in a day, with my max being ten on a day where I was in the Melbourne CBD.

I’m currently finishing up my expedition around the suburbs, and I’m heading north to the barren country tomorrow evening. I’ve got my car booked in for a general car service in the Bentleigh area this afternoon, which will put me in a good position to drive around the state without anything going wrong. I don’t want anything getting in the way of my muffin mission. I don’t expect there will be any issues with my car seeing as I only got it serviced three months ago, but mechanics are few and far between when you’re outside of the suburbs in Victoria, so it’s best to get these things checked out before you go off into the dry wasteland.

You may be wondering why I’m even bothering to go out of Melbourne city to eat muffins. That’s because it’s very commonly known that some of the best bakeries in the state are in completely secluded random country towns, and if I’m going to find the best muffin in the state, then I have to go to these bakeries. I’m so excited.

I just picked up my car, and the mechanic told me he had to do a brake repair. Moorabbin and Bentleigh mechanics are really thorough, which is why I went to them in the first place. I’m a bit annoyed that I needed to get a brake repair so soon after my last car service, but it’s better that I find out now than when I’m in the middle of regional Victoria with nothing and no one to help me.
