I never thought I’d be taking my ute on such a long drive, but here we are. I’ve recently accepted a contract that will have me driving professional tools and equipment to several cities around Australia. I’ll be away from home for several weeks, but the pay is really good. I just hope my fish can survive without me all this time. I’ve given them plenty of food, so I’m sure they will be fine.

In preparation for this long road trip, I’ve had to get one of the best ute canopies around Melbourne. Now that everything is nice and secure, I’m pretty much ready to go. I’ve got the equipment in the back, my podcasts and music downloaded, and plenty of snacks. Next stop, Sydney! I’ll update you when I get there.

Tuesday: I’m yet to arrive in Sydney, as there has been an insane amount of congestion on the road. In fact, I’ve barely even left Melbourne. It’s like everybody is fleeing Victoria for a reason I’m completely unaware of. What is going on? Thank goodness aluminium ute canopies are super strong, because my ute has been rammed into several times (whether on purpose or by accident, I’m not really sure). Everybody seems to be in a panic, but I can’t find out why because I deliberately left my phone at home.

Why did I leave my phone at home? Because I want this to be an adventure. I’ve been given a week to get to Sydney, so that’s plenty of time, provided the traffic gets better. I’ve got my podcasts and music downloaded to a tablet, so there’s no need for the internet. I’ve got maps and a determination that should get me to Sydney easily.

How am I posting this online if I don’t have any internet? That’s a great question. I’d love to answer that for you, but it looks like the traffic is starting to move again! I’ll give another update when I reach Sydney.
